The Duck House is a fantastic one bedroom ground floor barn which has recently been converted sympathetically but with a modern fresh look keeping many of its original features. It is decorated to a very high standard and run alongside a Visit England 5 Star Gold B&B Farmhouse.

It has a wonderful open plan living area with pitched ceilings and exposed oak beams. A spacious and light sitting room with french doors (opening onto a private terrace/garden which is completely dog proof!), flat screen TV, DVD player (with a selection of DVD's), and free wifi. The fully working kitchen has excellent facilities including a ceramic hob/oven, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, iron etc. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits in the kitchen for your stay.
The bedroom and ensuite wet room boast exposed beams and pitched ceilings. The bedroom also has french doors which lead onto the terrace/garden. Super kingsize bed, or can be split into twin beds, flat screen TV, radio, hair dryer and plenty of storage. The ensuite has an excellent shower, with two shower heads, sink, wc. Grab rails are located next to the loo and in the shower so our guests with movement disabilites can use the facilities safely. (A plastic seat can be provided for guests who need to sit down whilst having a shower. Please mention this when booking. The whole barn has touch screen underfloor heating which is easy to operate and is very efficient. Eygptian cotton sheets and large bath/hand towels are provided. Extra blankets/pillows are also available.
The barn faces west so enjoys the evening sun. It has a very generous terrace, with a seating/dining area for the warmer evenings. There is also a BBQ. A raised lawn area, and fully fenced dog proof garden with views across the fields. During the summer, open water swimming is available in the lake, and coarse fishing is available all year round.
A travel cot/high chair is available for babies/toddlers. There is a single matress/camp bed which is available for a small child. An additional charge is made for sheets and towels.
The Duck House can also be used for Bed and Breakfast or a breakfast hamper can be provided. This has proved popular for guests needing ground floor accommodation or for those who bring a dog. The farm is very central giving excellent access to local shops, visitor attractions, and motorway connections. The M1 is approx 20 mins drive. Derby City centre is approx 10 miles, Uttoxeter 9 miles. Stoke approx 20 minute drive, whilst Birmingham NEC is approx 45 mins, depending on the traffic. Alton Towers, Hansons Auctioneers, Uttoxeter Race Course, Castle Donington, National Trust properties (Kedleston, Sudbury, Calke Abbey etc are very nearby. Chatsworth is approx 50 minutes drive on the scenic route!
